Today I’m thrilled to officially relaunching Mean Magazine, and I’m kicking things off with a giveaway.

Yeah it’s a little wild but here were are! I’m so happy to be back and connecting with the demographic I’m obsessed with: Gen X women, or anyone who identifies as a woman and feels unseen as she gets older.
I’m excited to share with you Minimo Skin Essentials, a skincare brand founded in 2016 by Black former third grade teacher Mary Ware. She was on the hunt for clean skincare products after giving birth to her son and dealing with hormonal hyperpigmentation, dark spots from breakouts, and uneven skin tone, which can be particularly challenging for Black skin.
She didn’t find anything that lived up to her standards, so she created Minimo, a collection of products that use ingredients including turmeric, watermelon, and eucalyptus among many others to create formulations the likes of which I’ve never encountered before, and that are truly effective.
She has developed the brand into a multi-million dollar business with sales in nearly 40 countries around the world. When you try Minimo products, it’s not hard to see why.
I love the turmeric scrub in particular—it significantly faded a stubborn dark spot on my cheek. I use the eye cream both morning and night, and the moisturizer is lovely under makeup. I’m very excited to share this brand with you!
